HIGHCLIFFE & INFINITY CC - COMPETITION RULES –10November 2011
GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR ALL COMPETITIONS
Only fully paid-up Competitor members of Highcliffe & Infinity Camera Club may take part in competitions. Any photographic image is only eligible to be entered in one internal Club competition during the season plus Best of Year competition.
OWNERSHIP
All images and their component parts must be the original work of the entrant, be photographed by them, and the copyright held by them. The use of stock images or any element which derives from an image which is not photographed by the entrant is not allowed. The Committee retain the right to view the original images.
PRESENTATION
All entries must be accompanied by a clearly completed Entry Form (available from the Club Internal Competition Secretary).
Each competitor has been allocated a personal two digit competition number XX which is shown on the Membership List. The competitor will number each entry; the first entry for each competition will be 1XX and the second entry will be 2XX. For example: A competitor’s number is 43. The first entry submitted for a competition will be 143 and the second entry will be 243.
1.3.1 Prints must be mounted on board or card (max mount size 500mm by 400mm) with the author’s name, entry number and print title clearly marked on the back.
1.3.2 Digital Projection Images should be submitted on a memory stick. Image file names must include Entry Number, Name, and Title, and the competition name should be clearly marked on the memory stick.
Example: 124FredBloggs-AnotherSunset.jpeg In this case the author is Fred Bloggs, it is the first entry in this competiton for Competitor number 24 and in this example it is a jpeg file.
CDs are also acceptable, as are entries emailed, with prior agreement, directly to the designated competition organiser but it must be made clear for which competition the entries are intended.
The image size must be 1400 pixels wide by 1050 pixels high (max), in JPEG or TIFF format only. If TIFF is used the file must have all layers flattened and be in 8 bit mode. The colour space must be SRGB. If the image size is less than this or a different shape, then the image should be placed on a background that is the required 1400 by 1050 pixels. It has been found that applying a narrow white keyline around the image and putting it on a black background works well.
With the exception of the Monochrome Cup entries, all images may be colour or monochrome unless otherwise advised by the Chairman.
JUDGING
All competitions (with certain exceptions detailed below) will be independently judged whenever possible. All entries will be scored. Prints and images for digital projection will be judged as separate categories.
