Highcliffe and Infinity Photography Club – Summer Outings 2016
The Wimborne Folk Festival happens over three days. I propose we go on Saturday 11th. It will be busy, but there should be some good opportunities for picture taking.
There will be street dancing and various music groups.
If you are intending to go, and want to join up with other members please let me know in advance. I suggest arranging to get to Wimborne for 11.00am. Once there we could agree a meet for a Beer and Sandwich at lunchtime.
22nd June Lepe Country Park SO45 1AD
Meet in the Car Park by the Office / Cafe. 7.00 pm
There are various things to photograph including the small lighthouse, watch house and wooden groins in one direction and WW11 embarkation beach with Steel off shore remains.
Afterwards we can make the short drive to Jolly Sailor, Ashlett Creek, Fawley SO45 1DT, where there is a small harbour and with the adjacent hostelry to round off the evening.
30th June Boscombe Pier and Environs ( Confirmed Date ).
Meet at the entrance to the pier at 7.00pm . I have to have some cycling friends who are prepared to come along for you to take some action photography along the promenade. It will be an unusual tandem having three wheels. I hopeful that Jim Pascoe will also ride his road bike clad in a skin suit. Hopefully you will get some action shots plus some portrait opportunities. I understand that in the evening there are quite a lot of members of the public either cycling or running which we may be able include.
2nd July Round the Island Race
Suggest meeting at Hurst Castle. The race starts at Cowes at 8.30 am and yachts are expected at Hurst Castle about 10.00 am. There is a small ferry which runs from Keyhaven which will save you the walk along the spit. I will be away at that time so will not be present. Last year there were at least 10 members who ventured out. always a colourful event with lots of activity. A long lens is beneficial. This is a general meet. I will be away.
20th July Away Day to Isle of Wight
The proposal is we catch the 8.45 ferry from Lymington and spend the day on the Isla of Wight and meet up at the end of the day for a pub meal in Yarmouth before returning home. The ferry cost about £50.00 for car with four people return. Could those that are interested please advise me sooner rather than later so we can book the Ferry Crossings in good time. For those that do not want to go for the day, they could travel as foot passenger and may be meet up in Yarmouth for the pub meal. Please let me know if you are interested.
17th August Rhinefield Arboretum
Meet at the Blackwater Car Park at 7.00 pm. This is a tranquil location with many majestic trees , interesting plant life and many interesting trees in the Arboretum. In addition there are trails to explore together with the interesting meandering river and reflections. For those that are inclined we could finish the evening at the Rising Sun on our way home.

Meet 7.00pm at the car park in Keyhaven, There is a wide variety of subject here, including the harbour foreshore, Harbour walls and ladders. The sea wall walk towards Lymington with views to Hurst Castle and Lighthouse. In the other direction you can walk to the spit and the river by the bridge.
Other activities that may be of interest:
Throughout June and July there is a league track cycling event at Bournemouth Cycling centre. They are on Tuesday’s and there is a number of races between 18.30 and 20.30pm. From what I can see, you can observe all around the track perimeter on the banked track. Should good for some action shots.

Again zoning in on action, Poole Pirates Speedway have home races on the following dates, 11th, 20th July, 3rd, 10th, and 24th August. The events start at 7.30 pm.
I will probably go to both circuits and I will am email when I am going closer to the time. You will have to pay an entrance fee for the speedway details can be found by googling Poole Pirates.
