Highcliffe & Infinity Photography Club (H&IPC) are members of the Southern Counties Photographic Federation (SCPF) who themselves are one of many Federations belonging to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB). The SCPF has approx. 65 member Clubs like ourselves and they encourage Clubs to enter their Digital and Print League competitions. The leagues are split into divisions of 8 clubs with each Club entering 8 images. At the moment there are 7 PDI divisions (1-7) and 5 Print divisions (1-5).
In each division the 64 PDI images or 64 print images are judged at the eight participating Club venues by a different judge at each venue and the scores for each Club are accumulated at the end of the season. In each division the top two Clubs are promoted and the bottom two Clubs demoted. Every Club therefore endeavours to reach division 1 and stay there. At the moment we are in Division 1 in the Print league and Division 2 in the PDI League.
In addition the SCPF organise an annual PDI Championship and an annual Print Championship in which all Clubs in the Federation are invited to compete by submitting 15 images in each competition and we compete in those also.
The SCPF also take part in PAGB inter-Federation competitions and use successful images from Clubs within their membership.
The PAGB and the Royal Photographic Society offer Awards and Distinctions and we encourage our members to consider applying for them when they feel ready. Help and advice on how to go about obtaining these awards is available.
