Tonight we welcome back JACK LODGE - with a presentation entitled “The Change of Seasons”. Jack is an excellent local photographer and you can find out all about his work at: https://www.jacklodge.co.uk/
Our new season begins on 4th September 2024 at Bashley Village Hall near New Milton, Hampshire every Wednesday evening from September through to June, doors open from 7.00 pm to start the activities at 7.30 pm.

Tonight we invite members to bring along images they would like to display at our forthcoming exhibition in Highcliffe Castle and St Mary’s Church, Bransgore. Bring along prints (mounted or unmounted) or PDI’s of images you would like to display. We will discuss these in small groups for feedback and advice on printing/mounting etc. Images of local scenes are probably more suitable for these two events but we are not restricted in what we can show.

Tonight we are having a question and answers session with Lymington based photographer STEVE POOLE. He will be presenting images from his career as a top fleet street photographer and later as a celebrity photographer. We will also have the opportunity to see, and discuss with him, images from his recent brilliant exhibition at St Barbe Gallery. Entitled the Uncommoners: Portraits of Life in the New Forest, his project is an impressive display of his photographic skills. He is also happy to chat and comment on club members images as well so please bring along your images This is an evening not to be missed. Tonight we will be entertained with a presentation by our Chairman, John Huntley, entitled "Desert, Dunes and the Delta". John will recount his photographic adventures on a trip through Nambia and Botswana featuring The Sossusvlei Dunes, Skeleton Coast, Etosha Game Park, The Okavango Delta and The Chobe River. One not to miss!
We meet at Bashley Village Hall (Bashley Rd, Bashley, New Milton BH25 5RY) at 7.30. New members and visitors always welcome.

Tonight we welcome MIKE MARTIN and his presentation FROM CAMERA TO PRINT. Looking at the creative process in a bit more detail., specifically, selecting images from a shoot and determining how to process. Includes hands on examples of beauty retouching techniques such as dodge & burn, healing process and frequency separation.

Members evening 5 - 'Look at it this way' - Each member can submit up to 2 images taken either as an extreme close up or an unusual angle of the subject of their choice. They can be entered via photo entry (but will not be marked - this is just for fun). They will then be shown on the screenfor members to guess what it is and discuss etc. It would be helpful for you to also submit an image revealing the actual subject as a whole.

Tonight we welcome CHRIS PALMER with his presentation THE ELOQUENT LANDSCAPE Chris states " The title is primarily a reference to my experience when working in the landscape, to the connection I sense and feel with the natural world around me, and the elements within it. They speak to me. Through my photogrpahy I would hope that my images also communicate with the viewer too." The talk embrces four sections, with significant content taken in Iceland, and much closer to home on Stoke Common.

Anything Goes! Tonight every member will have the chance to submit one entry for discussion either a PDI or a print.You can be as creative as you like and use your favourite editing software to create the final image. AI will be allowed but you must disclose it on the night. It can be new or back catalogue - or maybe you have an image you want some input from others on how to improve. Each author will be asked to talk about the image first and then will be open to audience comments and discussion. If you are bringing a print no digital upload will be required.

Finally, Keith Thomson will talk a bit about some of his favorite images and a current project trying to photograph birds in flight. An entertaining evening to be had by all, look forward to a lot of banter along with some fantastic images
